arrival in Ramallah

In the afternoon we arrived at Ben Gourion Airport (Tel Aviv, Israel) and were picked up by Jousef, the taxi-driver who drives for the music school Al Kamandjati, our partnerschool in Ramallah. We got to Ramallah very quickly. It took us only about half an hour to 45 minutes, something which surprised me. Qalandia-checkpoint was easy to get through and there was hardly any traffic. In Ramallah it was great to see our friends again of Al Kamandjati and to find that a beautiful extension has been added to the building. He drums well and got along fine with the other musicians. Several of these musicians are also teaching at the music school, and might therefor become his future colleagues, if Michael decides to come back next Summer to stay for one full year to teach percussion.
